This July 4th, let’s salute our bodies as well as our country.
Independence Day is a great time to think independently about our eating habits. Holiday traditions are fun, but not an excuse to pig out. Celebrating July 4th barbecues with hot dogs, hamburgers and corn on the cob is great, but we can enjoy them in moderation.
Add patriotic colors- like red (strawberries, raspberries, watermelon), white (cottage cheese, yogurt) and blue (blueberries). Having them instead of dessert or a second helping of chips and we get minerals, vitamins, calcium and proteins that make us feel great.
Let’s give our bodies some fireworks.
